Well...spring is moving right along, and we are thrilled to have a constant flow of new and exciting stuff.....

But before I get to that...

You will notice that I have a new side-kick working with me at the store these days, my partner in crime (and life), my husband Siga. He has joined me as we are anticipating that, come January when our lease comes up for renewal, our landlord will expect us to participate generously in paying for a seriously behind schedule, and even more seriously over budget, seismic retro-fit!!! Our wonderful associates, Doriena and Sandy, have been most understanding of our situation, and we are looking forward to having them both make guest appearances in the future! We have become a tight little family and hope to always remain that way.....

Where to start?????

It seems that my favorite things change several times a day, so maybe we can be alphabetical???

Annette Gortz actually listened and followed our special request that we only be shipped our new collection when it could be shipped complete!!! Our European collections usually come in piecemeal, and it makes me crazy to keep it in the office for so long! The new collection is vanilla and butterscotch and gold. The fabrics are soft cotton jerseys in tee shirts, crisp metallics in fanciful skirts and jackets, and rumply linen sportswear pieces. Annette Gortz does fit on the small side, and is beautifully detailed and tailored. We are looking forward to building this collection in future seasons, as many of you really seem to love it!!!

Our Lilith collection is finally sort of complete.....if I keep waiting for the pieces that have been in Customs for weeks, we might be waiting until the Fall!!! Lilith is what we do for fun, and you will notice in the photos that I had a bit of a good time in combining it with other collections (Krista Larson and Lynn Mizono) to give it our own personal twist! Some of our favorite things this spring are the black denim bubble skirt and jeans...any and ALL of Lilith's tulle!!!...the black and white textured menswear fabrics...the great bowed-back cardigan........all wonderful, wonderful pieces to play with!

Noblu is what we love for casual wear! This group of black accented with natural or white is what we call a "no brainer".....How cute is the striped tee over the black button skirt with the cropped striped legging peeking out??? Or the same tee over the bloomer?? And I LOVE the long tank dress topped with the sexy little shrug!!!!! This soft and comfortable knit is easy to pack and is ready to go where you do.....

Ray Harris just keeps on sending those little brown boxes filled with magic! This week we have gotten in two spectacular new dresses, and a reorder of an old friend. I actually own this dress that I NEVER would have thought about trying on because it is shaped exactly the opposite of me, but someone insisted that I do, and the rest is history. These clothes just look great on almost every body!!!!! We have also received his v-neck, cap-sleeved tees for summer in a bunch of colors, with even more on the way!!!

When I gave our WWD the Sledge tee shirts to photograph, her comment was, "So now we're selling biker tees?" Like biker tees are a bad thing?!?! These specially treated crinkled tees are rather form-fitting and even more rather cute..... A couple of you bought them right out of the box as we unpacked them, and one of you actually wore one out, before I could hide them upstairs to wait for this newsletter!

We are not trying to hit you over the head again with our fabulous ItemZ shirts.....this time we are using them to show you our new line of magnetic pins and silly squiggly necklaces. Designed by a San Francisco artist, these fabric-covered wires can be manipulated as you like. I love the Stick Ball pieces first and foremost for their explosion of color, and secondly for that kitschy feeling that I can never resist.....

Other new accessories.....

Watches from Stroke of Art...the new red dominoes and the new red phone cord and the cut-up credit cards.....

Sarah Cavender's romantic flower chokers in softly shaded metallic mesh.....

Chicken Scratch.....always tongue-in-cheek.....presents—Carpenter Bee...Heard It Through The Grapevine...Flower Pots...Kitty Corner...and Dog Pack. I KNOW!!!!! Only those of you who collect Chicken Scratch have a clue what I am talking about.....

We have some wonderful new stuff for guys, too, that Siga picked up on our last trip to New York .....credit card cases, glasses cases, and cigar cutters and lighters. (Nobody EVER has to use these—they just look cool!)

Our stock of what to wear is looking great....lots of Krista Larson and Blanque for everybody.....and a whole bunch of other stuff too. We are especially having fun being creative combining unexpected things into.....unexpected looks. Ever since I went to the Vivienne Westwood exhibit at the DeYoung, I question how anyone can ask about RULES. It is just so much fun to be individual.....if you love it, DO IT!!!

Now for my latest environmental statement.....

How about the square champagne and martini glasses? Made in France and frosted and painted in New York , these beauties will make any drink all the more special!!! They are also available in gold.....

Even better, we have recycling.....old diner flatware becomes a magical candlestick, a clock, a frame for your favorite photo, a utensil or napkin holder for your next party.....all at the whim of California artist Diane Markin!

.....and we have a few hundred other toys to make your environment as special as you are!!!!!

.....so please come see us.....

hugs for everybody!
