HAPPY 2007!!!!!
It is always exciting to start off the new year with fabulous new stuff.....or this would be the morning when I would rather be curled up with my blankie over my head! HOWEVER.....
We start off this new year with TWO new collections from Blanque.....with lots of new styles! I usually have to spread out the drawings artfully on the picture page.....this time it was a question of artfully crowding them on. The first group is based around a cocoa-colored soft brown crush with accents of acid cotton and cream/cocoa striped linen. This new crush fabric is a very soft and light blend that will be a dream to wear! Our second group is a new fabric for us—linen gauze in black, black/white stripe, and solid white. The casual, easy feel of this collection will make it the first you reach for when packing for a weekend away, a trip to a warm climate, or just hanging around looking great!
We do love our ItemZ shirts, and I love these the most of any we have ever had! We did something different this season.....no white, no black, no red....just a burst of fabulous color!!!!! We chose our three favorite shirts and have each of them in six different colors, five of these colors exclusively ours!!! We are showing you each of the shirts in two colors so that you will see the possibilities. Don't you just love the feeling of shades like Positive Energy (bright tangerine), Acid Pear (acid green), Plasma (turquoise), Henna (soft cocoa/khaki), and Amethyst (soft lavender)??? We also love the Orchid (bright pink) that appears in the collection. The Vent Shirt and the Asymmetric Shirt are two of our best, easiest, most flattering styles, and I love the Long Back Shirt as a new silhouette for the season. All one size.....all EASY!!!!!
We have more new styles in from British designer Ray Harris.....the master of crinkle poly! His dramatically shaped dresses and skirts, his novelty pants and jackets, and his fitted little tops are available to order in about twenty colors!!!!! We have chosen Acid Green (but of course!), pine, raspberry, and donkey gray. I live in my favorite Ray Harris skirt (as some of you may have noticed!) and only a year ago I would have been horrified at the very thought of ever wearing anything polyester! You will love his innovative styling.....
The first of the spring accessories are starting to arrive.....
Sox Trot socks are here in new patterns and colors!
Sarah Cavender has designed some really great contemporary pieces in her signature mesh, which we have brought in in Black, Antique Silver, and Antique Gold.
NOW.....while we are really excited about the first of the new spring collections, we also do have a grip of the fact that winter is just starting! SOOOOOOOOOOO.........
We are having a major love affair with FELT.......
You have seen some of the spectacular felted bags and flowers from Marcia DeCoster.....well, we have a really nice selection of those!
Ruth Spencer has added yet another design to her collection of felted silk/wool neckpieces. We don't really like to call these scarves because they are so much more. I love someone buying one of Ruth's designs coming back twice a week for more business cards for all of the people who stop her on the street while wearing it!!!!!
Doriena immediately spotted the two women who walked into the store wearing these fabulously frivolous felted hats!!!!! Needless to say, one was the artist, who let us choose our favorite six out of over one hundred styles. I pride myself on being able to select anything in a matter of minutes or less, but these were so good that my reputation has been destroyed! If you never want to be lost in the crowd.....
