The holidays are upon us!!!!!

I know that you are all really busy this time of the year.....and so are we!!!!! I don't know when we have had a December so filled with new goodies to play with....

Before the new goodies though.....Siga and I have just finished our first fifteen years of business at 500 Sutter Street , and we would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have been so supportive of our adventure through all of those years. It is you who have made it possible for us to get up every morning looking forward to the day ahead.....doing something that we both love to do. We have built a wonderful circle of friends over the years and never cease to be amazed at the inspiration and talent they have brought into our lives. Thanks so very much!!!!!!!!

AND.....as much as we do love to play with all of you, we are taking the opportunity for a couple of rare long weekends by being closed on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve days.....that's December 24 and 31. I know, I know.....you weren't planning on coming then anyway, but.....just in case!

Now for the new goodies......

Blanque brings us a new collection in a fabric that you have loved......that wonderful washable, packable, look greatable nylon/cotton blend (as in "an evening out in Viet Nam !”). The new colors are Olive and Palmetto.....great colors in themselves, AND they mix really well with the previous black and red pieces. This time we have brought in the Audrey Coat and the Manteau, both of which work really well in larger sizes, and the Blazer and the Zip Jacket, which work better smaller.......so there really is something for everybody in the group! You can wear this right now if you can't wait to take it into the spring!!!

Mad Lab's theme for the new collection is "Route 66"......remember that? This is a playful group of several easy tops and jackets that can be paired with either the pant or the skirt.... or any black bottom piece that you already happen to have. I love the fact that we can have our black pieces and a huge splash of color at the same time....I know that some of you think I don't like colors..........

We have gotten lots and lots of battered little boxes from London , one of them even bursting at the seams. I can never believe when we open them just the volume of what pops out of the package. I am talking about Ray Harris, of course. I always wish that you could see these pieces the way they are on a person because some of the legs and sleeves are just a bit weird looking...........So, I'll tell you about some of the really great new stuff. Please remember that what we have is also available in a whole bunch of other colors.....we just chose some eye-popping ones this time!!!! You are looking at his very, very swingy 3-circle skirt, his new slimmer cardigan, the new skinnier pant that so many of you requested, and (my personal favorite) the shawl with sleeves! I think the shawl with sleeves is just the most brilliant idea......you never have to worry about losing it! Some other new pieces that we have are the crinkle waist long bubble skirt and an opera coat in taffeta. We are showing the skirt here the way that I love to play with things.........the fawn skirt is shown as Ray meant it to be worn.....the smoke skirt is turned inside-out for a smaller look with a ruffled bubble at the hem. AND, you can also pull this skirt up and wear it as a short dress. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are seeing our really, really final reorder of Giselle Shepatin's gorgeous black velvet pieces, this year accented with calla lilies in shades of rust. We have also gotten in new sweaters...this time in combinations of soft and dusty purple tones. Each of these sweaters is a unique piece because it is knit from several different yarns that are pieced together randomly and then knit. We love these sweaters! We also have them in shades of red and will be getting other colors as they are available......

I bet you thought that I had given up on MycraPac!  No chance......we just had to sell some of the million polka dot ones we bought in three colors first. We are really excited to have some new ones. We have the short version of the Donatella coat that we sold for years......we love it because it has BUTTONS!!!!!!! Do you remember how the coat only buttoned at the neck and flew open in the wind????? The new, improved jacket length is available in either red or moss, and it is still reversible, and it still packs into its own bag!!! The Big Zip is an easy, sporty style. Either one of these loves to travel..............

They came in too late to be photographed, but we have a couple of new shirts from ItemZ. They are ivory in a wonderfully textury waffle weave made of silk with a tad bit of lycra. These shirts are simple and beautiful and can be quite, quite dressy.....

We, of course, have a zillion different accessories to go with all of these things, including some new ones..........

New necklaces and bracelets from Sarah Cavender.

New socks from Sox Trot.

FABULOUS new Anya handwarmers!!!!!!!

And....more tote bags and wallets from "The News".....The placemats are accessories too......they just get to be on the table!

There's new stuff for the guys too.....

We have been selling more and more of Michael Murphy's hand-painted silk ties. We find that some men are collecting them because they are so beautiful. Well, I told Siga that maybe he could go on his website (I sure can't!) and see which new ones he would like to order. So, he did, and then he printed the pages, and then about a week later, here came this humongous box...........one of every single tie that Michael Murphy makes!!!!!!!!! SO....if you need a tie for that special guy.........

Our new order of Salvage t-shirts has just arrived too......new colors, new themes......new details.

And, we must show so some of our new Cynthia Hipkiss pieces........Cynthia is a wonderful ceramicist from Sonoma , and everything she makes is fat and funny. Her lady in her underwear seems to amuse all of our guests as they use our downstairs bath....sometimes they rearrange her wire curls!!!!!! We are showing her with black undies, and we also have her with pink ones. The salsa bowl featuring Carmen Miranda perched on the side holding her margarita is also great for guacamole or other spicy snacks.

SO......I guess this is it until the New Year. ....but, you never really know.

All of our warm wishes for a joyous and festive holiday season with those you love....
