Was this a glorious weekend, or what?!?!
It seems that Memorial Day this year was about as far back into May as it can get. I only care about his because it means that everybody wants to go away somewhere.....and you know they have to get those end of May orders out the door before they do.....
First to arrive, clothing-wise, was our velvet collection from Giselle Shepatin. (I love the shock value of that!!!) We bring it in early because we can, and because we sell it the moment it arrives...IT'S THAT GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! This year's motif is the calla lily, done in rusty tones ranging from apricot to deep rich rust. We have long and short vests, long and cropped tops, dramatic wraps, and pants. Our base color in this collection is black, as always, BUT this year we brought in one of each available color as a scarf (there are about ten other colors!) so that you can order any of these pieces in a color of your choice!!!! Do we love that??? What else we love is that they really do go anywhere.....yes, you will buy them because they are so special, but then you will love them so much that you will wear them with your jeans and boots!
Our love affair with Ray Harris continues.......our color palette keeps broadening, as do our fabrics and styles. We love the new sheer organza to layer (as in the black and white outfit), the new and easy dress shapes (as in the scoop neck pagoda dress), the ease with which his jackets work their way into your everyday life.....Always one-size, always easy to pack, always dramatic.......always wanting to be seen!
Mad Lab scores a hit with the first perfect transitional group to take you through the summer and into the unpredictable (sometimes hot) days of fall. Soft black rayon is accented with subtle earthy tones of red clay and teal. I especially like the heavier cotton pullover as the piece to reach for that goes with anything...the texture, the details, the pattern—it all just works! This is a great group for just about everybody as it is sized from small through a generous extra-large!
We have Krista Larson summer pieces coming in just about every week through the middle of June!!! All of our favorite (mostly all) pieces are coming in again. Right now we have our reorder of the Horizon Cardigan and the Irish Lace Cropped Cardigan and a few pieces of the Spring Cardigan in most colors. Please remember that we have started a special update letter that we will have going out most Wednesdays just for those of you who want to stay informed about everything Krista. Accessories-wise.......
We have a new bag from Susan Riedweg that sold out immediately early in the spring. It didn't take long to figure out why.....It is the perfect briefcase bag!!! It is perfect because it holds what your briefcase would, and it looks great too! We are showing you our three new arrivals!!! Remember too that we can always order you your favorite bag style and size in the leather of your choice.....
Going back to Giselle Shepatin.....We have her new calla lily scarf not only in many shades of velvet, but we also have them in many, many shades if iridescent silk chiffon. You see one of the silk ones accenting the Mad Lab tunic. It is never too early to start thinking about the perfect gift........
We loved the Deborah Cross scarves so much, for the few days that we had them, that we are really happy to have gotten more....an expanded collection of both our favorites and hers. Each one is pieced from combinations of silks and interesting weaves and finished with lots of stitching and loose spindly ends. The combinations of textures and colors can only be the product of an artist's eye.........
If you have been in anytime lately, you know that we are brimming with all things spring and summer and silly and fun.
If you haven't been in lately......well, I might just be thinking about you, and I can't tell you how many friends I have seen the past couple of weeks right after I was thinking about how long it had been since I had seen them!!! (This is the kind of sentence that used to drive Miss Marmon, my sophomore English teacher, out of her tree!)
Siga and I are looking forward to seeing you! Two months working together and all is well!!!
Cheers!

P.S. Watch me not want to get killed by my WWD! She has taken a great photograph of some fabulous additions to our ever-increasing collection of birds...we think these could make a pretty special Father's Day gift! Or wouldn't they just look great on an office desk that needs a little (character? fun? whimsy? lack of "seriousness" in an artistic way)? These are all hand made in Florida by artists who in the past have made us some wonderful mirrors and still make us a small collection of pins.
