Really.....this newsletter is SO BIG that my WWD (wonderful web director to those of you who are new) has told me that I MUST write a lot of text to pass all of the pictures through!!!!! That's not how she said it exactly, but I don't speak enough computerese to remember the exact words.....

If ever I have to do this, now is a good time because fall is rolling in fast and fabulous!!!

We always eagerly anticipate the first fall delivery of crepe from Blanque. This time our color is espresso.....the same wonderful shade that we had far too little of this time last year. The nice thing is that we have added a few new styles and a splash of spice with a mid-length tank top in a color called cayenne. With the addition of a new jacket, a new pant, and a new tank, we have attempted to give a new look to one of our most versatile fabrics. Other colors will be coming throughout the season.....this one will not be around for long!!! There is also a wonderful brown/black striped tee shirt in this group, which we are showing with a Ray Harris pant (BECAUSE....it in no way matches anything else in this group.....it's just great.....)

We have added some new styles to our ItemZ shirt collection with the arrival of our first fall fabrication. This beautiful marbled fabric is an easy-care polyester (that doesn't look anything like....) from Italy . It has a wonderful hand and comes in Rust/Black, Green/Black, or Brown/Black. The Big Shirt is a luxuriously full piece that doubles nicely as a jacket, and the Tab Shirt is a clean, sophisticated look that can go from office to evening as well as be an excellent traveler. There is a matching pant for the Green/Black and Brown/Black combinations, making a great outfit completed by a simple black tank (and maybe a spectacular belt?!) Of course it does look perfect with a lot of different black pants, especially the Blanque black crepe!!! All styles are one size only......

When we first brought Ray Harris into the store, we had no idea that he designed anything besides crinkled polyester in thirty stunning shades..... Well, along came the cottons of summer, and NOW.....we ADORE the bi-stretch (polyester/lycra gabardine) of fall!!!!! Who but Ray would think of crinkling gabardine?!?! We love the way he has done it on the sleeves and hem of the dramatic scoop neck dress, the waist/hip line of the pants and handkerchief skirts, and the accents on his coats. While I would naturally gravitate toward the always perfect black, both Siga and I were intrigued by the unusual quality of the olive and the softness of the gray.....so.....we have all three colors to offer you in some styles and can order any others that you like!!!!!

Those of you who have not signed up for our Krista Larson Wednesday newsletters will probably love this new collection just like those of you who have. The first two shades to arrive for the season are the rich cranberry/brownish RUST and the soft and buttery SAND. We have a nice selection of cotton jersey knits, linens, and a variety of silk fabrics and novelties. There are sweaters in all cotton yarns and jackets and coats in softly lined wools. We are constantly expanding this collection because so many of us wear it every day that it needs to be casual enough, and then so many of us like it for our dressed-up occasions that it has to be fancy and feminine and gorgeous......and then there are those of us (we know just who we are...) who do both at the same time all the time. We can and love to show you how to do any of the above. No matter how confusing it may all look, these are the easiest clothes on earth!!!!!

We are introducing a new collection for us, "Spirit House". We have had this talented designer's work in the store before, and are thrilled to give it a go with a whole new feeling. Our first collection is in shades of brown.....offering textures and patterns with stripes and polka-dots. Katrin's attention to detail shines through with the buckle bottom skirt, the buttoned pants, and the adorable (Gads! Did I actually use that word?!) layered crop jacket. I, of course, love the oversize tee because you can turn it inside out and have a different pattern with the stitching on the outside..... and even the label is cute! (Cute?!)

While we are bringing in all of our fall goodies, I could not resist buying Anya's latest summer collection of her fabulous pieced tees. These are bright and somewhat zany combinations in a new style with an asymmetric neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. We have these pieces in small, medium and large, but extra-large sizes can be ordered, and, if you don't want them so form-fitting, Anya is very gracious about squaring off the body as a special order.

We have lots and lots of great accessories, which we have tried to splash around on the different outfits. We love accessories and buy many.....but we never buy them with our clothing lines in mind. The most fun thing is to accessorize our clothes with WHATEVER....it's an adventure!!!!!

The two new accessories that we are bringing out actually arrived months ago. Siga and I loved the flowers and scarves British designer Debbie Bryan created out of felted wool and what I think is clear nylon mesh. The colors are all soft and dusty and terribly feminine.........

More new accessories are in the offing.....we found some new artists that we really like at the San Francisco Gift Fair and are bringing their work in just as fast as we can......

I guess you have figured out that there is no room in the newsletter for any photos of new gallery goodies, so I will tell you about one of my favorite new crazy things. These will only appeal to those of you who like really great cat things. We have little mice, BIG mice, and doodlebugs made out of felted recycled sweaters and filled with organically grown catnip! The mice have long, long tails.........

In the next newsletter, we WILL have pictures of gallery stuff. My friend Sarah is coming, and she says Halloween is always out when she comes in August, so, out it will be!!! We have more and more Halloween goodies every year because they just keep getting better and better.....and a little creepier.....

So, that is the story for now....

Looking forward to seeing or hearing from you.....

love from us,

kati....the writer
siga....the enabler!!!
